A week after departing from the beginning, Loine.
Heading south towards the next town, we move through the 『Stang Plains. 』
A vast grassland.
Persistently, we walk along a single road that continues through it.
Even though it’s a plain with good visibility, ordinary monsters inhabit the area, so a certain level of caution is necessary.
But for me, who has subjugated the Goblin Emperor, no monsters pose a threat.
Even if they do appear, most are non-aggressive monsters.
Fur Rabbits and Prairie Rats, weak monsters that flee upon detecting our presence.
Occasionally, we encounter Goblins and Wolves, but they too can be easily repelled.
A solo journey.
My long-cherished desire to 『see the world』 has come true.
Though there are many difficulties, like being wary of monsters and preparing meals in such a state.
But there are even more new discoveries.
Morning, a grassland covered in dew.
Crisp air.
When I emerge from the sleeping tent, the starlight remains in the dim sky.
I begin preparing breakfast in the slightly chilly air.
A light shines.
Turning towards it, the sun is rising from beyond the horizon.
Forgetting time, I gaze at that beautiful sight.
Sceneries I’ve yet to see.
Fantastical spaces woven by nature.
Sea, mountains, grasslands.
Sun, moon, clouds.
My expectations are ever-growing.
I can’t help but look forward to seeing these scenes.
I truly enjoyed this peaceful journey.
Sunset begins to fall over the grassland.
Today’s journey ends here.
I can’t carry today’s fatigue into tomorrow, and I want to finish various preparations before it gets dark.
I take out camping tools from my storage.
I was initially anxious about camping, but I got used to it after three days.
The first thing to do is set up a monster repellent.
I pile up branches, surround them with stones, and light a fire with 【Fire Attribute Magic】.
The Stang Plains is a grassland, but trees are sporadically present.
So, I never forget to gather branches during the day.
Once the fire is stable, I throw a bundle of dried grass into it.
The smoke from burning this grass contains a scent that monsters dislike.
I have to do this first, or nocturnal monsters will attack.
Next is to set up the tent.
Assembling this tent was difficult on the first day.
Remembering the trial and error of putting together the framework in the wrong direction brings a smile to my face.
Now, I complete it in a matter of minutes.
With these preparations complete, I finally start preparing dinner.
Let’s make soup tonight.
I draw water with 【Water Attribute Magic】 into a small pot and place it on the fire.
Once it boils, I add a small amount of salt, gathered wild grasses and herbs, and chunks of Fur Rabbit meat I hunted during the day.
While enjoying the purple and orange clouds created by the sunset, I remove the scum from the soup for a little over 10 minutes.
A pleasant aroma of herbs wafts through the air.
Checking that the meat is cooked through, I remove the pot from the fire.
Dinner is ready.
Arata: “Let’s eat.”
First, the soup.
I scoop the soup with a spoon and blow on it a few times to cool it.
Then, carefully take a sip so as not to burn my mouth.
It turned out well.
The broth from the Fur Rabbit and the herbs used to remove gamey flavors might become an addiction.
My body warms up.
Next, I’ll have the meat.
I take a bite of a slightly large piece of Fur Rabbit meat.
Fur Rabbit meat tastes bland, like chicken.
However, the simple taste of the fat gives a different kind of deliciousness from Orc meat.
This fat also goes well with the wild grasses and tastes good.
Pausing my meal, I open the 【Map】 skill.
Even so, I hadn’t realized that the Stang Plains was this wide.
The map shown to me at the Adventurer’s Guild was so rough it looked like a child’s drawing, so I thought three days would be plenty.
In a way, it’s good that it made me realize I had forgotten to acquire the 【Map】 skill.
Could it be due to a lack of development in surveying techniques?
Things work out with hunting and gathering for food, that and magic serves as a substitute for fire and water.
Specifically, water is heavy so it would be a hassle to carry.
I measure the distance from Loine to the next town.
As of today, I’ve covered nearly 90% of the distance to the next town.
If all goes well, I should arrive by noon tomorrow, or night at the latest.
With this, my enjoyable journey will come to an end for the time being.
But towns have their own charm.
It’s fun to find delicious restaurants and even shopping, I’m excited for.
I slowly savor the remaining soup and start preparing for bed.
Tomorrow, I finally reach the 【Royal Capital Elza】.
